| LAST: Leon Association for
Science Teaching |
The science education arm of TSS, this organization consists
primarily of science teachers and adminstrators. LAST works
with school authorities to improve the science curriculum,
organizes confereneces and trips for the continuing
educatuion
of teachers and provides grants to teachers and students
to enhance science education in area schools. Annual
awards
to teachers and community leaders recognize
commitment
to and achievement of quality education in the sciences.
For students and the public of laboratories, government
facilities, industrial plants and other sites of scientific
and technological interest.
TSS arranges for professional scientists to visit K-12
classrooms to assist teachers and talk with students.
